How to request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow

  • Use an online form to request an appointment. This is known as eConsult. The service is available Monday to Friday, 8am to 9am. We respond before the end of the next working day or sooner when we are open.

  • Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist when we are open.

Please note eConsult will not be available on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. eConsult will resume on Friday 27 December.

When you get in touch, we will ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

We may be able to offer you an evening or Saturday appointment locally.

How to cancel an appointment

To cancel your appointment:

  • please call us on 01634 250142 and select Option 6
  • complete and submit an Online Form
  • visit the surgery and let the receptionist know in person

Please tell us as soon as possible if you no longer need your appointment so we can offer it to someone else and help reduce waiting times.

If you regularly miss booked appointments, you may be asked to find an alternative GP practice and removed from our practice list.

Help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there is a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to have an appointment.  You may need to wait longer if the person is not in clinic.
  • If you would prefer to consult with a health professional phone, face-to-face, or by text.
  • If you need an interpreter.
  • If you would like a friend, family member or member of staff to come in with you for a face-to-face appointment Chaperone Poster
  • If you have any other access or communication needs.

How to request a home visit

Home visits are only available for housebound patients and for those too ill to attend the surgery.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you need a home visit, please call the surgery as early as possible, before 10:30am.

We will look at the information you give us and decide the most suitable person for you to see and what type of consultation you need. A health professional may consult with you face-to-face or by phone.

Primary Care Hubs   

MPA offers evening and weekend GP appointments at different locations across Medway and Swale. This gives more appointment options each week to help with the growing number of patients.

New Data Protection Regulations from May 2018 (GDPR)

Under the new data protection rules starting from May 25th, 2018, we will keep sending text messages to patients about their care if they have given permission.

If practices send messages about recommended treatment for a specific health problem, it’s considered as providing the right care for patients, not for marketing.
